What a let down though :（ I thought it's going to be an angsty black and white cliche shit like The Kiss Thief but。 。 。 this one 。 。 。 it just ain't it。 I don't like how the lead girl is portrayed in this novel。 For godsake， her nickname is "Martyr Maddie"。 Trying to normalize to idea of saying yes to all occasions and putting down your dignity as a woman so you can live happily every after with the man that you love - who is broody， soulless， unremarkable， a jerk， and straight up cocky。 I just What a let down though :（ I thought it's going to be an angsty black and white cliche shit like The Kiss Thief but。 。 。 this one 。 。 。 it just ain't it。 I don't like how the lead girl is portrayed in this novel。 For godsake， her nickname is "Martyr Maddie"。 Trying to normalize to idea of saying yes to all occasions and putting down your dignity as a woman so you can live happily every after with the man that you love - who is broody， soulless， unremarkable， a jerk， and straight up cocky。 I just don't like it。 And while she's simping for this Chase Black God， guess what she's also in an exclusive relationship with a doctor who I have no idea what his character supposed to do in the story。 I just don't get it！Another thing， I am not buying the drama in this book。 Like a father who is dying？ A sister whose anxiety is to shop endlessly？ And a mother 。 。 。 who is just too nosy？ They are all cliche and so unrealistic I was cringing every scene。 I just don't buy it。 Nah， this book is just na-ugh。 I can't believe I expected too much :（ 。。。more

4。8 ⭐️ （Would buy paperback）I LOVED THIS ❤️❤️❤️❤️Chase and maddie have such good chemistry！ There were so many funny and cute moments that I’d love to go back and read。 None of the characters were too stupid and that was refreshing 😂I overall really enjoyed this。 It was such a good read。 The reason it’s missing 0。2 is because although it was great， it was missing that little magic that made me want to put my busy day on hold to read it

it hurt to breath next to him。。Yes。 It definitely felt like that to me。 For a significant amount of time， I was this close to murdering Chase Black。 But as soon as you enter his universe， you'll find out that Chase Black is nothing like he shows。 The future COO of The Black & Co。 Chase black has no place for colors in his life。。。 And love also。。。 and marriage。 Why？ Well， he has his reasons。 But when needed， he can turn the universe upside down for the people he cares about。 And that to mention is his family。 As Chase Black quotes it， "Family is a divine principle for the Blacks。" And he means it。 Well， let's put it like this， Chase Black will break your heart， will tear you apart。 But the deeper you know him， the more you'll fall for him。 If you put all the pieces together， Chase Black is tough， defensive， incredibly hot and a complete package of A***e。 He's funny， sarcastic and more than that， he is a kid from the inside who's desperate for love even if he says he isn't。 Chase Black falls into his own blackhole of love despite denying it for thousand times。 If you don't believe me， take this as an example: " Where Madison Goldbloom was concerned， I simply couldn't hold myself。 She called the four-year-old a*** kid in me 。 And he came running， ready to pick a fight"。 And of course the white bed。😉And yes。 He definitely has issues with his hormones。 Get a grip on'em dude。Btw， can anybody tell me how can someone be so ridiculously rich？ Let's make it clear that I'm not the money-eyes type but it's definitely bothering me。 From Maddison's descriptions to Chase's own words， how is it possible？ And more importantly， WHO CALLS A HOLIDAY HOME "ESTATE"？？？？？？？I clearly remember him saying，" I headed to our room on the LEFT WING OF THE "ESTATE" "Now let's come to Madison Goldbloom。 AKA Martyr Maddie， aka Mads， aka MAD。 She is sweet， cute， strong， sarcastic and outrageously funny。。。。。She knows when to be strong and kick it in the guts when needed。 But she also knows how to be the comfort you're looking for she's the type of person you know you can count on no matter what。 Otherwise， who agrees to go on a fake engagement party with her devil ex-boyfriend？？？？？？？ FOR CRYING OUT LOUD！！！！！Other than the fact of being obsessed with her past/present love/enemy/fake fiancee ， she knows how to love and take care of people around her。 Although she's well known for her Extra-noble deeds， Martyr Maddie is loved by all。。。 Well， Almost。 But soon when she finds out that being Martyr Maddie has a darker side too， she decides to take a stands。 But it turns out that soon she's about to regret it。 Anyways， the story revolves around two ex-lovers。。。。 no actually maybe haters？ WHAT WERE THEY ANYWAYS？ Well let's put it like， the story goes with Maddie and Chase faking an engagement to give Chase's ailing father （ YES。 THAT'S RONAN BLACK） some reason to be happy during his journey to the end。 They go from being enemies to fake fiancés to no-strings-attached buddies to friends and finally to lovers。 There's more to it and if you wanna know you'll definitely have to give it a go。 And make sure nobody's watching you。 Because you'll be filled with laughter and smiles and blushes and sometimes maybe kicking slang words。 You'll be obsessed with Maddie and Chase。 for sure。 My MY I can write about it all day。 PS: Sorry about my extra large editioned review and all the quotes but I cannot get over it。 AT ALL！！！！！ 。。。more
